MOO & BREW FESTIVAL
On a beautiful spring day in 2014 Moo & Brew Festival co-founder Ken Thomas was standing in the middle of the festival grounds at the Music Factory when inspiration hit. “I was just looking at the giant site and thinking that CLT could use a great party to kick off the spring and summer and that we had the perfect spot to do it. It should have great live music, a big selection of local, regional and national craft beer and amazing food and we should raise some money for a local charity”, recalls Thomas. With the creative juices flowing, Ken called his friend and Creative Loafing owner, Charles Womack, who loved the idea. They decided to add a burger competition to the mix and the Moo & Brew Festival was born. One year later on a perfect spring day in the Queen City the inaugural event made burger, beer and music fans in Charlotte smile and raised over $8,000 for Second Harvest Food Bank. The second year was equally as successful and by year number 3, they decided to elevate the music with Blues Traveler and even more craft breweries and the event sold out in advance and has now raised over $30,000 for Second Harvest Food Bank. We’ll see you next April!
