Our Culture

It’s pretty simple. We’re a burger joint with a passion for great beer and good times. We love rock and roll, backyard BBQs and good people. We are the perfect spot to eat, drink, unwind or throw down. Moo & Brew combines our love of it all in an awesome neighborhood joint. Come grab a burger, raise your glass and high five your neighbors. This is the place you’ve been waiting for.

Our Philosophy

When did burger and beer get so complicated, huh? Artisanal this, gourmet that. We’re cutting the pretension and focusing on what you (actually) crave. We’re thoughtful with our sourcing and sticklers for good value. We make solid food from scratch and serve up complex flavors minus the fuss. We’re not trying to be anything other than your favorite neighborhood joint.

Our Founders

Zach got his start selling pizzas to support his young family. His hard work quickly moved him up the ranks at Fuel Pizza and he eventually became Vice President and Partner. His business savvy helped to expand the local eatery from three locations to 14 and his passion for the community led to Fuel’s “Food to Fork” program which teaches elementary school kids the joys of edible gardening, healthy choices, and of course, pizza making.

Ken began his run in the service industry through front of house operations and overseeing teams who opened some of Charlotte’s favorite nightlife institutions. Since then he has racked up decades of experience producing large-scale concerts and events, and facilitating entertainment real estate development at the NC Music Factory where he has been VP of Entertainment for over 10 years. Ken had a vision to unite Charlotte over craft beer, burgers and good times. In short order, he partnered with Creative Loafing to bring the Moo & Brew Festival to life. With the success of the festival, Ken called his long time friend Zach with an idea for a brick and mortar version of the festival they agreed that “burgers and beer are too good for just once a year”…..and the rest is history.

Ian grew up in Upstate NY and started his restaurant career in an old school, hands-on pizza shop. While working towards his Bachelors in Business Management and Marketing from SUNY College at Brockport, he managed the pizzeria. Upon graduation, Ian headed south to pursue his restaurant career. Prior to joining the Moo & Brew crew, Ian launched BT’s Burgerjoint and grew it to a four store chain that averaged 1 million plus per unit. It’s profitability and growth induced an acquisition by Chanticleer Holdings (Nasdaq HOTR) in 2015. Ian’s vast knowledge of restaurant operations and appetite for growth make him a vital asset to our team.

Our History

Moo & Brew unites lovers of burgers, craft beer, music and merriment. We took what you love about our annual festival, made it a brick and mortar joint and we’re serving up nothing but good times. On the menu we’re featuring elevated American classics including the best damn Angus burgers, local veggies sourced with the seasons and hand cut fries seasoned to perfection. On tap are some of the finest small-batch brews made in the Queen City plus regional bottles hard to score anywhere else. At Moo & Brew we’re not trying to overcomplicate the classics. We like to keep it simple; that’s all you really need for a helluva good time.
